Welcome and Intro!

This is my project for 2015 and beyond.  I am following one of the well-known eating plans in South Africa – one that actually advocates healthy, balanced meals, so no cutting out of food groups.  All about a sustainable, healthy lifestyle change.

I have been on almost every possible ‘diet’ you can think of – and as a result ended up at the age of 40 being massively overweight.  The funny thing – I knew all these other ‘diets’ were short term fixes – and at a time in my life it was enough, but not anymore!  BUT I also had enough of ‘diet food’ to last me a lifetime!  So the past couple of months I am focusing on healthy eating – the days of 1/2 tin of tuna and a cup of dry lettuce is gone!  I am no gourmet chef by any means or a professional food stylist/photographer (so be gentle)!  But I just love good food!  And would like to share my love 🙂  Life is too short!  Life is too short for boring meals!  Life is too short to ONLY eat lettuce!  Join me in this journey to find good food and healthy meals!  Please feel free to comment, suggest, give feedback!

I love experimenting with tastes and flavours, so I do create my own dishes and recipes, or tweak recipes to make it a bit more healthy – or to fit in with my current eating plan. If you’d like to share any recipes posted on this blog please feel free to do so – but kindly give me and/or this blog credit.  It is a labour of love!  😉
